Devin Dawson, RMT CNP CIr

As a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), registered and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), I assist individuals in improving physical function and athletic performance, and helping to manage pain, discomfort and stress.

Here is a short list of conditions I have experience working with:

  • Physical injuries from motor vehicle accidents, work and sports
  • Frozen shoulder, muscle tears, bursitis, rotator cuff syndrome, chronic tendonitis of the shoulder
  • Piriformis syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome (numb fingers or hands) and carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Tendonitis of the elbow (“tennis” elbow and “golf” elbow)
  • Recurring neck strain and chronic low back pain
  • Pelvic and hip pain, hip flexor tightness or strains
  • Whiplash, headaches and migraines
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia

I have a special interest in working with individuals involved in sports and athletic activities including rock climbing, golf, tennis, ultimate disc, swimming, running and cycling, to help with recovery time and improve performance.

My philosophy and approach to manual therapy revolves around similar principals to osteopathic theory and techniques. I’ve deemed “fascia first” as my personal motto. Through the course of my practice, I have come to the realization that fascia is probably one of the, if not the most, important structure of the body.

The fascia is the connective tissues that surround all of our bones, ligaments, tendons, organs, muscles and also lies just beneath our skin. It keeps our structure and organs in place. Often times, we can have a dysfunction in one part of the body that can potentially affect a distant area, which often times, makes it difficult to attain full recovery or full range of motion.

To complement my manual therapy practice, in 2013, I completed an intensive program at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Mississauga, and hold the designation of Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP), Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Iridologist. As a Nutritional Iridologist, I can assist individuals on making healthy nutrition and lifestyle changes, and use nutritional supplements and herbal medicine to support and balance body systems. Iridology is one of the assessment techniques I use to help me understand your body’s unique needs.

I encourage you to get in touch to book an initial consultation or massage therapy appointment; let’s work together and be pain-free and perform our best!
