Berkey Light® systems equipped with Black Berkey® Elements offer the same contaminant reduction performance as Berkey® stainless steel systems, but with a lightweight, durable, BPA-free co-polyester construction. Purify* water while camping, fishing, RVing or during unexpected emergencies or disaster scenarios.
The 2.75 gallon Berkey Light® System comes standard with 2 or 4 Black Berkey® Elements.
Berkey Light® Systems are made and assembled in the USA and constructed from durable food-grade, non-BPA/BPS co-polyester, which does not retain or leach foul tastes and odors into your water.

* Black Berkey® Elements test results have shown that they meet and exceed the standards required to be classified as a water purifier.
Each Berkey® Black Filter Element is rated for 3,000 gallons over it’s life. That is equal to roughly 11,350 litres of life. The Dietitians of Canada recommends approximately 2 to 3 litres of fluid intake each day. If you used your Berkey® for drinking water alone, each Berkey® Black Element would last approximately 10 years!
Each Black Berkey® Element has an approximate maximum flow rate of 1.75 gallons (or 6.65 litres) per hour.

Each pair of long-lasting Black Berkey® Purification Elements can treat up to 6,000 gallons (or about 5 years of typical use) before needing replacement. If desired, Berkey PF-2™ Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Elements may be installed on each Black Berkey® Purification Element.
